Decasan®
Decasan® is a cyto-safe antiseptic.
Cyto-safety is the ability of an antiseptic not to damage the body’s cells. An effective antiseptic should not only eliminate microbes but also preserve the viability of the cells responsible for wound healing.
Decasan® action mechanism:
Decasan has antimicrobial and antifungal effect and concentrates on the cytoplasmic membrane (CPM) of a microbial cell and links with the membrane’s phosphate lipid groups, disrupting the penetrability of the microorganism’s CPM.
Decasan® has:
- an expressed bactericidal action against staphylococci, streptococci, diphtheria and Pseudomonas aeruginosa, and capsuliferous bacteria;
- a fungicidal action against yeast, yeast-like fungi, agents of epidormophytosis, trichophytia, microsporia and erythrasma, certain mold fungi (aspergilli, penicilli);
- an antitenial action against trichomonads and giardia lamblia;
- an antiviral action against viruses;
- the drug is highly active against antibiotic-resistant microorganisms; the sensitivity of antibiotic-resistant microorganisms to antibiotics is increased during the drug therapy;
- in prolonged antiseptic use of the first one there were found no cytotoxic and no pro-apoptotic effects on the epithelium*.
