Adequate hydration is a fundamental aspect of maintaining a woman’s health throughout her life, especially during pregnancy. Dehydration, which can occur due to a variety of reasons such as vomiting, diarrhea, excessive sweating, fever, polyuria, etc., can cause serious complications for both the mother, associated with an increased risk of preeclampsia, premature birth, and the fetus, that leading to growth retardation, impaired neurological development and other adverse consequences.
