Disposable blood transfusion set with a plastic needle (PK transfusion system)
There are two techniques used to seal containers with infusion and transfusion media:
- vials of infusion solutions are plugged with rubber stoppers;
- bags containing blood and its components, as well as PP packs, are heat-sealed.
YURiA-PHARM PK system is used for transfusion of blood and its components. It is equipped with a plastic needle for the container with a channel for air intake; its internal diameter does not exceed the solution channel; it meets all requirements for such systems. Luer-Lock type of connection is used to connect the injection needle to the system.
PK system’s filter retains microclots and lets blood cells pass freely.
YURiA-PHARM PK system features:
- designed specifically for transfusion of blood and its components;
- plastic needle is conveniently attached to containers with blood or its components (packed red cells, plasma);
- does not require additional venting;
- tip of the injection needle has a triangular laser sharpening;
- equipped with a band-aid to attach the needle (since August 2009).
YURiA-PHARM Corporation recommends using PK systems only for the transfusion of blood and its components.
YURiA-PHARM PR system is intended for transfusion of infusion solutions and blood substitutes.
- Conical tip with a lateral hole (prevents contamination of solutions with rubber pieces).
- Venting with a conical tip and a lateral hole (needle’s bore remains free so that air may enter the bottle).
- Needle has finger grips.
YURiA-PHARM PR system features:
- specifically designed for injection of infusion solutions and blood substitutes;
- lateral hole in the needle makes full use of vial contents possible;
- size of the drip chamber filter prevents fine particles from falling into the solution;
- tip of the injection needle has a triangular laser sharpening;
- equipped with a band-aid to attach the needle (since August 2009).
YURiA-PHARM Corporation recommends using PR systems for its solutions.
